GBSCA Scholarship Program
The 2020-2021 GBSCA Scholarship Program is currently accepting applications and materials from students and counselors*.
*Counselors - if your student applies for this scholarship you will need to provide a copy of their transcripts and a letter of recommendation in support of their application.

The Greater Boston School Counselors Association (GBSCA), an affiliate of the Massachusetts School Counselors Association (MASCA), is a professional organization for the guidance and college counselors of the Greater Boston and surrounding areas.
The GBSCA Scholarship Program provides financial assistance in the form of a ONE-TIME scholarship to a maximum of two (2) first-year students (freshmen) in the amount of $1,500.

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants are asked to submit the following:
The GBSCA Scholarships will be awarded as checks made payable to the attending college/university.
The GBSCA Scholarship Program provides financial assistance in the form of a ONE-TIME scholarship to a maximum of two (2) first-year students (freshmen) in the amount of $1,500.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Must have attended and graduated from high school
- Must be accepted with plans to enroll as a degree candidate, first-year/freshman (full-time) undergraduate college student at an accredited college/university
- Must plan to major in Education and/or Psychology
- Must receive a letter of recommendation from a counselor who is a member of the Greater Boston School Counselors Association (annual membership dues must be paid)
- Must submit a completed scholarship application with an official transcript from your high school
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants are asked to submit the following:
- A completed application form
- Official high school transcript(s)
- Personal Statement (not to exceed 500 words)
- Copy of acceptance letter
- Resume
- Letter of recommendation from a counselor who is a member of the GBSCA.
